Description
You can spot AI writing in two seconds now. So can readers. So can Show HN.
This kit turns that gut feeling into a repeatable check. Score your draft across 40 concrete tells, fix the worst three, and run the 48 hour Show HN checklist before you post. One plain file you can reuse for posts, docs and product pages.
Price: $19 once. No subscription. No upsell. You get the file right after payment and you can re-download it from your account. 30-day refund. If it does not make your drafts cleaner, email [email protected] within 30 days and you get your money back.
What you get
- A 40 item scorecard split across five groups: Structure and Flow, Wording and Vocabulary, Claims and Proof, Voice and Tone, and Formatting Tells. Each item is a yes or no check with a short example. You score 0 to 2, totals add up automatically.
- A scoring view that surfaces the weak spot. Enter your marks and see which dimension lags, plus the three fixes ranked by impact. No hidden math, you can trace how each score rolls up.
- A 48 hour checklist for Show HN. Two pages covering the day before, the day of and the hour after you post: title and first comment prep, link and demo checks, and a reply plan. Checkboxes work on screen or on paper.
- Ten before and after rewrites. Realish drafts with filler and list tics next to tightened versions with the same facts. Use them to calibrate your eye before you score your own work.
- A one page quick scan. The ten fastest tells to catch in under a minute when you do not have time for the full 40.
Who it is for
Built for indie makers, writers and small teams who ship in public and want their words to sound human.
- You post on Show HN, Reddit or your blog and worry your draft reads like filler
- You review product pages, docs or changelogs and need a shared checklist your team can actually use
- You want a file you can run alone, not another AI tool that rewrites for you
Who it is not for: If you want an auto rewrite button, a guarantee of upvotes, or a style that writes in your voice without editing, this is not it. The kit helps you spot slop and fix it. You still do the writing.
How to use it in a minute
- Score the draft. Paste your text beside the scorecard or print it. Go item by item and mark 0, 1 or 2. The sheet totals each dimension. Start with the lowest one.
- Fix the top three. Open the Priority sheet. It lists the three lowest scoring items with a plain fix note and a link to the matching before and after example. Make those edits first, then rescore if you want.
- Run the launch list. When the draft feels ready, work through the Show HN checklist from the top: title, first comment, demo link, screenshots, reply plan. Most makers finish in 20 to 30 minutes.
- Save your version. Duplicate the file for the next draft and keep the old score as a record. After a few posts you will see which tells you keep repeating.
Tip: Score fast the first time. Do not debate a 1 versus a 2. Mark it, move on, fix the worst three. Getting the two tells that make a page feel generated matters more than perfecting all 40.
Limits and what this will not do
Scoring writing is subjective. This kit makes the judgment visible, it does not make it objective.
- Two people can score the same draft differently. That is normal. Use the score to guide edits, not as a final grade.
- It does not detect AI with certainty and it does not rewrite for you. It flags common patterns so you can decide what to keep.
- Show HN results depend on timing, title, comments and product. The checklist improves your prep. It does not promise rank, traffic or sales.
- If you need line by line editorial help or legal review of claims, work with a human editor. This is a checklist and examples, not professional editing.
File and delivery
- One .xlsx file, about 48 KB, with five sheets: Scorecard 40, Priority Fixes, Quick Scan, Show HN Checklist and 10 Before After rewrites. All cells unlocked, formulas visible.
- Works in Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers and WPS. No macros, no scripts, no external links. Upload to Google Drive to open in Sheets. Filters and checkboxes work the same.
- Scoring is 0, 1 or 2 per item. The sheet sums by dimension and overall, then ranks the three lowest items on the Priority sheet. You choose how strict to be.
- Instant download after payment. Link on the order page and in your receipt email. Log in anytime to re-download from My Account > Downloads.
- Personal or small team license for one product. Use it for your own drafts. Do not resell or share the file itself.

FAQ
Will this guarantee my Show HN post ranks or gets traffic?
No. It gives you a 48 hour checklist to avoid common misses like a vague title, missing demo link or slow replies. Ranking depends on many factors outside any checklist. Prep well, then post and respond as yourself.
Is the score objective or will different people get different scores?
It is structured but still subjective. Two editors will mark a few items differently, especially in Voice and Tone. Use the total as a guide and focus on the three lowest items. Consistency across your own drafts matters more than the exact number.
Can I use it in Google Sheets and do I need AI?
Yes to Sheets. Upload the xlsx to Google Drive and open with Google Sheets. No AI needed at all. The file works offline and you can print the scorecard and checklist if you prefer paper.
From the maker
I run Yixing Store solo. I built this kit because I kept seeing good products hidden behind filler openings, vague claims and perfect looking lists. I wanted a simple sheet I could run on my own pages before I publish. If a score feels off, change it. The value is in the fixes, not the number.
Questions after you buy. Email [email protected]. A real person replies within 24 hours. 30-day refund, same policy as the store refund page. You can audit the formulas. Nothing hidden.
